Thank you for being so upfront about this. I believe that the bible is both art and stories to learn from. It doesn't matter how we get there as long as we understand the words. Also if you cant believe Mary's part then you cant really except miracles. God does this to create earth and everything dwelling on it. He created man an women, gave them both hands to create a baby... Just something to ponder on.🙏😊💕

I am a new Christian. As I am learning there has been some questions. If prophets are supposed to accurately prophesy God's word as if they were from God himself. Then when Isaiah prophesied that his name will be Emmanuel. Isaiah did not say his name would be Yeshua or Jesus but literally prophesied that his name would be emmanuel. As we see Jesus' name wasn't Emmanuel so now I have a question to as to why Isaiah prophesied incorrectly?

Hey DiscipleJimmy! Thanks for exploring the Bible with Bible Unbound. Matthew anticipates this question in the very first chapter of his gospel - I highly recommend reading it. Matthew doesn't see this as "his name will literally be Emmanuel" but rather "He will be God incarnate, Emmanuel, God with us" (see: Matthew 1:22-23)!

@@BibleUnbound I finished reading matthew. Then wouldn't Isaiah say he will be Emmanuel meaning God with us instead of saying his name will be? Because He will be emmanuel makes sense. Saying his name will be means thats what his name will be.

You say, that because the gospels are persuasive essays, they should not be classified historical biography’s. You say this as if the purpose of a historical biography cannot be to persuade but to simply account events, that if a work does have a purpose to persuade, then it cannot be called a historical biography, but can still be true none the less. But as far as I can tell, you believe all the stories in the gospel to be factual events. Is that what you’re saying? In my view, historical biography’s and persuasive essays are not mutually exclusive, the use of facts or logos are one of the very ways persuasives are written. Can you explain to me if Iv interpreted what you’ve said incorrectly or can you explain in more words why the gospels are not historical biography’s.

Yes exactly “historical biographies and persuasive essays are not mutually exclusive” is what I’m saying 👍 Because that’s what documentaries are! But when we divorce the two, and look at the gospels through one exclusively then I think we’ve made a misstep because it’s difficult to harmonize them that way.

Love your work but the fake, dramatic stammer has got to go

Agreed, the stammering continuously through the entire thing is so off-putting, I can't listen to any more episodes.
      Sorry to say. 😢
